- 11 August 2026 Immersion school adds a second classroom for the autumn term Council approved the build out of a second immersion classroom at the Ashbend School Campus, raising capacity from eighteen children to thirty two.
- 7 August 2026 Shellfish beds three and four reopen after two weeks of testing Fisheries and Water Quality reopened the two beds closed on 22 July after four consecutive clean samples.
- 4 August 2026 First phase of the archive digitisation is complete Four hundred and twelve reels of audio recorded between 1961 and 1994 have been digitised and catalogued. None of it is published, and none of it will be without Council direction.
- 28 July 2026 Council adopts its own water quality standards for the estuary The standards were three years in the making and are stricter than the federal floor in two categories.
- 21 July 2026 Emergency Management opens storm season preparedness visits Free household visits run through September. Elders and households with medical equipment are scheduled first.
- 14 July 2026 Autumn scholarship round opens with a larger award The annual award rises to $4,200 for full time study, and the trade and certificate fund doubles.
