Emergency Management is booking free household preparedness visits through the end of September. A crew member walks through the house, checks the heat source, the water supply and any medical equipment that needs power, and leaves a written plan.

Households with an elder or with medical equipment that depends on electricity are scheduled first. The department expects to complete about ninety visits before the season.

The Nation’s generator fleet was serviced in June and the two shelters at the Community Hall and the school gymnasium were both tested in July.

Call 555-0162 to book a visit, or ask at the Elder Center, which is taking names for its own members.
