Business and development
The Nation's enterprises are public assets. They report to Council in open session, they are audited every year, and their purpose is employment and revenue for the Nation rather than return for an owner.
Enterprises
- Ashbend Marine ServicesVessel repair, haul out and the fuel dock. 31 employees.
- Nation ConstructionHousing construction and road work, mostly under Nation contract. 44 employees.
- Shore Road Fuel and StoreThe community store and fuel. 12 employees.
- Timber ProductsSmall mill running Nation timber into dimensional lumber for the housing program. 18 employees.
Quarterly reports go to Council in open session and are published in the documents library after the meeting.
Procurement and open bids
Tribal and Indian preference applies to Nation contracting, and since the 2026 ordinance it applies to contractors above fifty thousand dollars as well as to direct employment.

Land and infrastructure
Land assignments
Residential assignments and building permits under the Nation's own code, through Planning and Land.
Water and roads
The water system, the wastewater plant, the roads and the wharf are all Nation owned and Nation maintained.
Workforce
Apprenticeships, trade training and commercial licence support, with childcare assistance while training.
