Meetings and minutes
Council meets in regular session on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m., and in special session as called. Meetings are open.
Upcoming
- 3 September 2026 Regular meeting and annual budget hearing Community Hall. Moved from Council chambers to seat the expected attendance.
- 1 October 2026 Regular meeting Council chambers
- 15 October 2026 Ordinance committee, open session Council chambers
- 5 November 2026 Regular meeting Council chambers
Agendas post seven days before each meeting, as the ordinance requires. To speak, sign the list at the door before the meeting opens: the floor period is thirty minutes and each speaker has three minutes.
Approved minutes
Minutes are approved at the following meeting and published after approval. Draft minutes are not published, because a draft is not the record.
- 6 August 2026 Council minutes, 6 August 2026 Regular meeting. Immersion classroom funding, the autumn scholarship award, and the ferry terminal consultation.
- 23 July 2026 Council minutes, 23 July 2026 Special meeting on the water quality standards, held over from the regular meeting for lack of time.
Executive session
Council may close a portion of a meeting only for the reasons the ordinance lists: personnel, litigation, and matters where a citizen's privacy is at stake.
When Council goes into executive session, the motion has to state the provision that authorises it, and that motion appears in the minutes. No vote is taken in executive session.
